Technical Quotation Specialist – Precision Engineering

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Quotation Specialist to join a leading precision‑engineering company in the Gloucester area. Reporting to the Head of Sales and Business Development, you will combine technical expertise with sales acumen to generate accurate quotations and drive new business.

Key responsibilities

• Create technical quotations for complex precision‑machined components.
• Review incoming opportunities and ensure profitable, compliant solutions.
• Support the development of market‑specific business strategies.
• Liaise with internal departments and negotiate alternatives with customers.
• Conduct site visits, attend trade fairs, and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Convert quotations into purchase orders and ensure contractual and quality requirements are captured.
• Report on business‑development activity, win rates and manage CRM data.
• Make informed bid/no‑bid decisions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in technical sales or quotation within a precision‑engineering environment.
• Exceptional communication and relationship‑building skills at all organisational levels.
• Strong analytical ability to assess profitability and align solutions with client objectives.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and able to work independently while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Technical quotation generation for precision‑machined parts.

• Bid/no‑bid analysis and decision‑making.
