Technical Sales Engineer

About the role

Our client, a well‑established UK manufacturer of bespoke process and packaging machinery, is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to join their commercial team. This hybrid, field‑based position involves managing existing customer relationships and generating new business across the UK, delivering tailored engineering solutions that meet client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new business opportunities and grow existing customer accounts.
• Conduct on‑site visits to understand technical requirements.
• Prepare quotations and detailed technical proposals.
• Manage projects from enquiry through to order completion.
• Liaise with internal engineering teams to create bespoke solutions.
• Maintain accurate CRM records and keep the sales pipeline up to date.
• Represent the company at customer meetings, product demonstrations and industry exhibitions.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Technical Sales Engineer, Sales Engineer or Applications Engineer.
• Proven track record selling capital equipment, process machinery or automation solutions.
• Strong technical and commercial understanding.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the UK.
