Technical Sales Engineer / Key Account Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer / Key Account Manager to join a well‑established precision engineering company near Gloucester. Reporting to the Head of Sales and Business Development, you will drive new business opportunities while nurturing existing customer relationships across a range of industrial sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Review incoming business opportunities and quotations to ensure profitable, accurate solutions.
• Assist in developing market strategies and identify new growth areas.
• Liaise with internal departments to meet customer requirements or negotiate alternatives.
• Conduct site visits, attend trade fairs and maintain contact with customers at all levels.
• Convert opportunities into purchase orders and ensure new contracts are fully captured in specifications and quality requirements.
• Report business development activity, quotation win rates and pipeline status to senior management.
• Manage CRM data and make informed bid/no‑bid decisions.

Required profile

• Minimum HNC level or higher in Production Engineering, Sales & Marketing, Project Management or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in technical sales or key account management within an engineering environment.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence.
• Target‑driven mindset and ability to work autonomously.
