Technical Support – Infrastructure (Hybrid, Birmingham)

About the role

We are looking for a Technical Support – Infrastructure professional to join our Birmingham team. The role is hybrid, combining office and remote work, and focuses on maintaining and improving the core IT infrastructure for our organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line and advanced support for Microsoft infrastructure services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy.
• Maintain Windows client and server environments and support Microsoft 365 and on‑premises Exchange platforms.
• Perform datacentre tasks such as racking, cabling, hardware deployment and maintenance of HPE equipment.
• Configure, troubleshoot and optimise VMware virtualisation environments.
• Monitor infrastructure health, analyse logs and perform root‑cause investigations.
• Document configurations, procedures and incidents to professional standards.
• Log and manage third‑party vendor interactions and participate in a 7‑day out‑of‑hours on‑call rota.

Required profile

• Hands‑on technical experience with the listed infrastructure technologies.
• Strong problem‑solving attitude, attention to detail and ability to work independently or within a team.
• Professional presentation and ability to handle demanding customer environments.
• ITIL awareness and a security‑first mindset.
