Technical Support Officer – Housing (Customer Service Advisor)

About the role

We are seeking an organised, customer‑focused Technical Support Officer to join a Housing Property Services team in Reading. The role involves providing administrative and customer service support to ensure tenants and leaseholders receive efficient maintenance and repair services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage work orders and job tickets from creation to closure using the housing repairs management system.
• Communicate with tenants, contractors and colleagues to deliver a seamless customer experience.
• Maintain accurate records, databases and documentation while ensuring confidentiality.
• Prepare, proofread and distribute correspondence, reports and meeting minutes.
• Support operational teams in coordinating planned maintenance and repair activities.
• Collect, monitor and analyse performance data and customer satisfaction information.
• Respond to customer enquiries professionally and efficiently.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and service performance.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an administrative, scheduling, repairs, housing, customer service or support role.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience handling confidential information and maintaining accurate records.
• Good IT proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and database systems.
• Experience in housing, property maintenance, repairs, facilities management or local government is advantageous.

What we offer

• Hourly rate of £14.59.
