Technical Support Officer – Housing Property Services

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Technical Support Officer to join our Housing Property Services team on a contract basis. The role combines administrative duties with customer‑facing support, ensuring that repairs, maintenance and compliance work runs smoothly for tenants and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Manage work orders from receipt through to completion and invoicing.
• Handle customer enquiries by phone, face‑to‑face and internal channels.
• Provide administrative and technical support across repairs, engineering and compliance.
• Maintain accurate records and update databases in line with data‑protection requirements.
• Raise purchase orders, process invoices and support financial administration.
• Liaise with tenants, contractors, trades and colleagues regarding ongoing works.
• Prepare documents, letters and maintain filing systems.
• Take and circulate minutes for team and contract meetings.
• Support team training and provide guidance to colleagues when required.
• Professionally handle complaints, queries and service requests.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an administrative or support role, preferably within housing or property services.
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• High attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
• Professional, tactful and capable of managing challenging situations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with IT systems.
• Experience using databases.
• Familiarity with finance systems and purchase‑order processing.
