Technical Surveyor

About the role

Gateway Housing Association is seeking a Technical Surveyor to carry out detailed property inspections and surveys across its portfolio of homes in London. You will provide technical advice that supports maintenance, repairs and development projects while ensuring compliance with legal, safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct property surveys to assess condition, identify defects and recommend remedial solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of surveys, works and inspections.
• Deliver excellent customer service to tenants, contractors and external stakeholders.
• Ensure policies and processes align with legislative, regulatory and best‑practice requirements.

Required profile

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience engaging customers, colleagues and external bodies.
• Extensive knowledge of risk assessment and health & safety management.
• Experience in building surveying or a related technical field.
• Good understanding of construction methods, materials, regulations and building standards.
• Ability to diagnose and specify remedies for building defects.
• Experience with the Housing Health & Safety Rating System.
