Technical & Training Manager – Audit & Accounting

About the role

Join a leading UK accountancy and advisory firm as a Technical & Training Manager within the National Audit team. This hybrid, full‑time position offers the chance to shape technical excellence, support audit quality, and develop learning programmes for staff from trainee to partner level.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support on UK GAAP, IFRS and auditing standards to audit and accounts teams.
• Manage the firm’s technical helpdesk, handling complex accounting and audit queries.
• Design, develop and deliver engaging technical training programmes for qualified staff and trainees.
• Create and maintain high‑quality training materials, guidance notes and learning resources.
• Support national technical events, conferences and Director/RI technical sessions.
• Collaborate with the Learning & Development team to coordinate CPD programmes and monitor compliance.
• Prepare firm‑wide communications on changes in accounting, audit and regulation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of audit methodology, training and technical resources.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with strong technical audit background.
• In‑depth knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, ISA (UK) and the FRC Ethical Standard.
• Practical audit experience gained within an accountancy practice.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Experience preparing or delivering technical training (desirable).
• Interest in audit innovation, technology and continuous improvement.
• Ability to explain complex technical matters clearly and practically.
