Technology Lead, AI Lab

About the role

We are seeking a Technology Lead to join a high‑growth consultancy’s new Generative AI Centre of Excellence. This is a hands‑on engineering position where you will design, build and ship production‑grade AI systems from day one, working in a green‑field environment with no legacy constraints.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy end‑to‑end Generative AI solutions, from use‑case discovery to production.
• Build Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines using vector databases and enterprise data sources.
• Develop agent‑based workflows, orchestration layers and multi‑step reasoning systems.
• Work with open‑source and commercial LLM ecosystems, including Hugging Face models and tooling.
• Implement prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks and performance optimisation.
• Architect secure, scalable solutions on AWS and GCP and expose them via APIs and services.
• Apply LLMOps/MLOps practices such as versioning, monitoring, cost control, bias and drift management.
• Collaborate directly with clients to translate business problems into deployable AI solutions.
• Contribute to internal IP, accelerators and reusable frameworks as the CoE scales.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience building and deploying Generative AI or applied ML systems.
• Strong hands‑on engineering background with a track record of coding, testing and deploying production code.
• Experience with RAG architectures, vector databases, Hugging Face models, prompt engineering and LLM evaluation.
• Familiarity with agentic systems, orchestration patterns and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
