Telesales Representative – Colney Heath

About the role

Join Lawson's Colney Heath branch as a Telesales Representative, combining outbound and inbound phone sales with face‑to‑face counter service. You will support trade and retail customers by taking orders, offering product advice and ensuring smooth order fulfilment.

Key responsibilities

• Make outbound calls to generate new orders and follow up on leads to meet sales targets.
• Handle inbound enquiries promptly, advising customers on product availability and alternatives.
• Operate the branch counter, providing courteous service to trade and retail visitors.
• Process orders accurately using the company sales system, including payments and paperwork.
• Maintain up‑to‑date product knowledge across timber, fencing and builders’ merchant ranges.
• Liaise with yard and delivery teams to ensure timely dispatch of orders.
• Keep the sales area tidy, stocked and display promotional material.
• Resolve customer queries and complaints, escalating complex issues to the Branch Manager.
• Contribute to branch sales targets and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Previous experience in telesales, counter sales or retail/customer service.
• Strong communication skills with a polite, professional and customer‑focused manner.
• Ability to work to targets and manage time effectively in a busy branch environment.
• Basic numeracy and literacy for accurate payment processing and paperwork.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional Saturday mornings.

Required skills

• Experience using CRM or sales systems.
