Temporary Accommodation Manager – South London (3-6 months)

About the role

This interim position offers the chance to lead a multi‑disciplinary team delivering temporary accommodation services for a public sector client in South London. Over a 3‑6 month period (with possible extension), you will work 36 hours per week in a hybrid model, spending 2‑3 days per week on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Temporary Accommodation Management, Income, and Homeless Hostel teams, overseeing three team leaders and up to ten additional staff.
• Ensure service delivery meets KPIs, regulatory standards, and council policies.
• Drive tenancy sustainment and support homeless households towards longer‑term accommodation.
• Support strategic leadership of housing and homeless functions.
• Promote effective use of technology for consistent, high‑quality service and mobile working.
• Develop a performance culture that delivers value‑for‑money services.
• Oversee income collection targets and exceed them.
• Provide expert advice to accommodation providers on property standards and tenancy management.
• Act as negotiator or mediator for landlords facing tenancy difficulties.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing multi‑disciplinary teams in housing or social services.
• Strong understanding of temporary accommodation, tenancy sustainment, and homeless support.
• Ability to motivate staff, deliver high customer satisfaction, and foster professional development.
• Knowledge of regulatory, statutory, and professional standards in the housing sector.
