Temporary Accountant – 6 months

About the role

This is a six‑month temporary accountant position with a leading transport company in London. The role supports the finance team by consolidating financial data, managing reporting cycles, and ensuring compliance with IFRS and UK tax requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Collate and consolidate management and financial accounting outputs, KPIs, cash flows, balance sheets and business plans.
• Consolidate results from entities in SAP BPC and upload to the Group Finance consolidation tool (Hyperion/OneStream).
• Coordinate inter‑company reconciliations and prepare half‑year and full‑year disclosures.
• Post IFRS16 and other consolidation journals in SAP.
• Support environmental disclosure reporting and ensure timely planning and reporting in BPC.
• Assist the Head of FP&A and System Accountant with SAP BPC maintenance and utilisation.
• Partner with directors and business leads to provide financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
• Manage affiliate work orders, balance‑sheet reconciliations and credit control activities.
• Prepare VAT, PAYE, NI submissions and process payroll and expense runs via SAP Concur.
• Draft statutory accounts and resolve audit queries.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Available to start immediately or with one week’s notice.
