Temporary Billing Officer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Billing Officer to join our finance team on a temporary, full‑time basis. This role focuses on managing residential income for a care home organisation and will be critical during a period of increased workload.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end residential billing process, ensuring accurate and timely invoice generation.
• Process complex billing cycles, including four‑weekly, monthly and back‑dated charges.
• Own the aged debt ledger, chase outstanding balances and resolve payment queries.
• Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to keep billing information up to date.
• Support income reconciliation and investigate billing discrepancies.
• Assist with broader finance activities as required and maintain accurate financial records.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing residential income within a care home environment.
• Background in billing, credit control or sales ledger roles with responsibility for residential billing.
• Strong knowledge of complex billing cycles and credit control processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast‑paced team.
• Confident communication skills for internal and external stakeholder interaction.
