About the role
Northumberland County Council is seeking temporary canvassers to support its annual electoral register update. The role is part‑time, fixed‑term and involves door‑to‑door visits in a designated area to encourage residents to complete a canvass form.
Key responsibilities
- Visit households at appropriate times, including evenings and weekends, to distribute and collect canvass forms.
- Gather stationery from County Hall on the scheduled date.
- Record completed forms accurately and report progress.
- Attend an informal web‑based discussion as part of the onboarding process.
Required profile
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Own transport with valid business insurance.
- Ability to work independently outdoors and manage time effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
