Temporary Catering Assistant – Primary School (Salford)

About the role

This temporary position supports the kitchen team of a welcoming primary school in Salford, helping to deliver nutritious meals to children. The role is ideal for candidates with prior school kitchen or catering experience who thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and serving of school meals.
• Support the kitchen team with food preparation and general duties.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness.
• Wash up and ensure kitchen equipment and work areas are tidy.
• Work alongside an experienced Catering Assistant as part of a friendly team.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a school kitchen or similar catering environment.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety procedures.
• Ability to work efficiently as part of a team.
• Reliable, flexible and positive attitude.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
