Temporary Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools

About the role

We are looking for a Temporary Cover Supervisor to support secondary schools across Surrey and West Sussex. The role involves stepping in for absent teachers, delivering pre‑planned lessons and maintaining a positive classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver scheduled lessons in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Ensure that pre‑set work is completed and understood by students.
• Prepare teaching materials and set up any required equipment.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Manage classroom behaviour and uphold discipline.
• Adapt teaching approaches to suit different class needs.

Required profile

• Experience working with secondary‑age pupils is highly advantageous.
• Strong desire to enter the teaching profession or gain further educational experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Willingness to travel between schools in Surrey and West Sussex.
