Temporary Credit Controller – Hybrid (Tadworth)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join our busy credit team on a temporary basis until 31 December. Working hybrid from our Tadworth office, you will take ownership of a portfolio of major accounts, driving cash collection and maintaining strong customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and collect debt across a designated portfolio of major business accounts.
• Review, prioritise and update ledger balances daily to maximise cash collection.
• Process manual Direct Debit collections and act on rejected payments promptly.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers to support timely payment.
• Identify accounts requiring escalation and recommend further recovery actions.
• Liaise with internal teams to resolve billing, payment and account queries.
• Maintain accurate ledger records and meet departmental deadlines.
• Provide cover and support for colleagues across the credit team.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in credit control or collections.
• Strong knowledge of credit control procedures and debt recovery processes.
• Excellent organisational, prioritisation and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Proactive problem‑solving attitude and ability to work under target‑driven pressure.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills with customers and internal stakeholders.
