Temporary Digital Communications Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Temporary Digital Communications Manager to support an ambitious climate charity. You will create, schedule and promote high‑impact content across a range of digital channels, working closely with the Brand, Creative & Digital Content team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the organisation’s social media calendar.
• Draft, design and schedule content for multiple platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube).
• Co‑manage social media channels and provide live coverage during major events.
• Ensure all published material meets the charity’s quality standards and protects its reputation.
• Align digital voice with the global communications strategy and tailor content to boost engagement.
• Collaborate with colleagues to source stories from cities acting on climate and turn them into compelling narratives.
• Help achieve traffic, audience growth and community‑engagement targets.
• Create toolkits for cities, partners and stakeholders to communicate events, announcements and campaigns.

Required profile

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to present complex information engagingly.
• Proven ability to leverage social platforms to drive growth and meet organisational goals.
• Experience producing creative social media content using Canva.
• Familiarity with social‑media video editing tools such as Veed or CapCut.
• Deep understanding of major social platforms and emerging channels.
• Knowledge of social listening and scheduling tools like Sprout Social.
