Temporary Finance Officer – Hybrid – £30k

About the role

This is a fixed‑term Finance Officer position based in St. Austell, offering hybrid working and a salary of around £30,000 FTE. You will own day‑to‑day finance processes and support both the finance team and operational managers across a busy multi‑site organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the sales ledger – raise invoices and maintain accurate customer accounts.
• Administer direct debits and resolve customer account queries.
• Carry out credit control activities and debtor reconciliations.
• Process daily banking and cash transactions with timely reconciliations.
• Support operational managers with finance and system‑related queries.
• Assist with month‑end activities, financial reporting and ad‑hoc finance projects.
• Provide support across the wider finance function, including purchase ledger when needed.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 months experience in a finance or accounts assistant role.
• Solid understanding of sales ledger, bank reconciliations and general finance processes.
• Excellent organisational skills and a methodical approach to work.
• Ability to manage own workload independently.
• Experience in credit control, funding administration or supporting a multi‑site organisation is advantageous.
