Temporary Maths Teacher (Maternity Cover)

About the role

We are seeking a Temporary Maths Teacher to cover maternity leave in an Ofsted 'Outstanding' secondary school. This full‑time, fixed‑term position offers the chance to teach KS3 and KS4 pupils, with the possibility of delivering KS5 lessons.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging mathematics lessons for KS3 and KS4 (and potentially KS5) students.
• Assess student progress, provide feedback and implement interventions where needed.
• Develop interactive resources that address diverse learning styles.
• Collaborate with the maths department to share best practices and resources.
• Participate in departmental and whole‑school professional development activities.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Proven experience teaching maths at KS3 and KS4 levels; KS5 experience is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of the UK mathematics curriculum and contemporary teaching methods.
• Ability to create an inclusive, respectful learning environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to ongoing professional growth.
