Temporary Nursery Cook – Summer Contract

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Nursery Cook to join our client’s team for a summer placement. The role runs from 27 July to 28 August, offering a full‑time, on‑site position in Gerrards Cross, where you will prepare nutritious meals for young children.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve daily meals for up to 65 children aged 5 months to 5 years.
• Ensure all special dietary, allergy and nutritional requirements are met and documented.
• Collaborate with the Nursery Manager and staff to design and rotate daily menus.
• Maintain stock rotation, order planning and weekly budget control.
• Keep the kitchen clean, tidy and compliant with food hygiene standards, including periodic deep cleaning.
• Adhere to all nursery policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a cook or chef in a nursery, school or care‑home environment.
• Strong knowledge of food hygiene, dietary and allergy controls.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, energetic and able to work independently.
• Good organisational and planning abilities.
