Temporary Purchase Ledger Clerk – Finance Team

About the role

We are looking for a Temporary Purchase Ledger Clerk to join the finance team of an established retail business in Verwood for a six‑week assignment. The role offers hands‑on experience of end‑to‑end purchase ledger processes within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, validate and code supplier invoices, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Contact suppliers to resolve payment or invoice queries and maintain strong relationships.
• Assist the finance team in preparing weekly payment runs and updating supplier account records.
• Use Microsoft Dynamics, Excel and approval platforms to scan, verify and process invoices, reducing manual workload.
• Collaborate with team members and report to the Financial Controller to ensure smooth finance operations during the cover period.

Required profile

• Proven experience in purchase ledger or similar finance transactional roles, preferably in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle high volumes of invoices accurately.
• Effective communication skills for liaising with suppliers and internal teams.
• Ability to start immediately and adapt quickly to priorities.
