Temporary Retail Assistant – Glasgow

About the role

This is a temporary, full‑time position starting 31 October 2026 in a busy Glasgow charity shop. You will work 35 hours per week on a rota, including weekends, and be paid £13.45 per hour. The role supports the shop manager and a team of volunteers to deliver excellent customer service and maintain high retail standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide friendly, professional customer service to shoppers and volunteers.
• Sort, organise, price and display donated items.
• Replenish stock, keep the shop floor clean and well‑presented.
• Process sales transactions accurately, handling cash and card payments.
• Act as a reliable point of contact for the volunteer team and assist with rota management.
• Offer administrative support to the Shop Manager as needed.
• Help create a welcoming and engaging shopping environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a retail environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to motivate others.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced team.
• Availability to work weekends.
