Test Equipment Design Support Engineer

About the role

The Test Design Support Engineer will join a world‑class defence organisation on a 6‑month contract, providing engineering support for production of advanced missile modules and launcher assemblies. Working in a hybrid model, you will bridge the gap between design teams and manufacturing, ensuring test equipment and electronic systems are delivered to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support production activities at state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facilities.
• Act as the interface between design engineers and manufacturing teams.
• Provide technical guidance on test equipment, PCB layouts and system integration.
• Assist with troubleshooting and optimisation of electronic subsystems.
• Document engineering changes and maintain compliance with BS EN standards.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Electronics or equivalent industry experience.
• Proven experience designing electronic products or supporting designs through manufacturing.
• Strong verbal communication and ability to produce clear engineering documentation.

What we offer

• Rate of £65.00 per hour (inside IR35 umbrella).
• Hybrid working – 4‑5 days onsite, occasional remote days.
• Compressed Monday‑to‑Thursday work week option.

• Potential for contract extension beyond the initial six months.
