About the role
Join the friendly and supportive theatre team at The Cherwell Hospital as a Theatre Scrub Practitioner. You will play a vital role in delivering high‑quality treatment and exceptional patient care within orthopaedics and/or ophthalmology operating lists.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain a sterile environment and assist the surgical team throughout procedures.
- Prepare and pass instruments, sutures and supplies according to the surgeon’s needs.
- Collaborate closely with nurses, anaesthetists and other theatre staff to ensure smooth workflow.
- Adhere to infection‑control policies and hospital safety standards.
- Document relevant information and support post‑operative hand‑over.
Required profile
- Valid NMC or HCPC registration with no restrictions.
- Proven surgical scrub experience in orthopaedics and/or ophthalmology.
- Optional Surgical First Assist (SFA) qualification.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible, positive attitude and empathetic character.
