Theatre Usher – Part‑time Casual

About the role

Brixton House is seeking enthusiastic ushers to join its front‑of‑house team. Working on a casual, part‑time basis, you will be the first point of contact for audiences, ensuring a warm welcome and a smooth theatre experience.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests, verify and scan tickets, and direct them to their seats.
• Assist patrons with accessibility needs and answer venue‑related questions.
• Monitor the auditorium during performances, handling disturbances discreetly.
• Distribute programmes, manage late arrivals, and support emergency evacuations.
• Carry out pre‑show seating checks and make announcements as required.
• Communicate regularly with the Venue Duty Manager and Front of House team.

Required profile

• Reliable and able to work flexible, as‑required hours with a minimum 4‑hour call.
• Good interpersonal skills and a welcoming attitude toward a diverse audience.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and assist in emergency situations.
• Willingness to provide satisfactory references.
