Threat Research Intern – 6‑month internship

About the role

HP is offering a 6‑month Threat Research Internship in Bristol, working with a team that investigates endpoint threats across hardware, firmware and software. You will contribute to cutting‑edge security data analytics research and help translate findings into practical tools and demos.

Key responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of state‑of‑the‑art research in endpoint security.
• Identify and analyse new security‑relevant events and data sources.
• Design and build tools for tracking endpoint threats.
• Create use cases and demos that address real‑world threat scenarios.
• Collaborate with researchers and technologists to prototype and demonstrate feasibility.

Required profile

• Currently studying towards a Doctoral, Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Curious, creative and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Python scripting/programming.
• Unix/Linux systems and network configuration.
