Thrive Practitioner / Assessor (Contract) – Alternative Provision

About the role
Join a specialist education provider to deliver Thrive assessments for young people in Alternative Provision settings. You will work on a flexible, self‑employed basis, supporting learners with SEND, SEMH and EBSA needs across community, home and online environments.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct initial and termly Thrive assessments to map each learner’s emotional and social development.
- Analyse progress in areas such as emotional regulation, resilience, self‑esteem and relationships.
- Produce clear, action‑focused reports with recommendations for tutors, families and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Education Delivery Coordinators to embed assessment outcomes into Individualised Learning Plans.
- Maintain safeguarding best practice and ensure the learner’s voice remains central.
Required profile
- Current, valid Thrive Licensed Practitioner qualification.
- Experience assessing children and young people, preferably within SEND, SEMH or Alternative Provision contexts.
- Strong report‑writing ability and capacity to translate findings into practical strategies.
- Warm, patient, trauma‑informed approach.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- Self‑employed status with ability to work flexibly across placements.
