Timber Assembly Operator

About the role

Join an established specialist manufacturer that creates bespoke, precision‑built furniture for demanding commercial environments. As a Timber Assembly Operator you will work in a hands‑on workshop, turning technical drawings into high‑quality timber products.

Key responsibilities

• Measure, cut, shape and assemble timber components to exact specifications.
• Glue, fit, clamp and finish sub‑assemblies into complete units.
• Install and adjust hinges, drawer runners, catches, locks, handles and other hardware.
• Sand and prepare joints and surfaces for finishing.
• Operate and maintain woodworking machinery, power tools and hand tools safely.
• Inspect completed work against quality standards and maintain a clean, organised workshop.
• Support occasional site work as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a furniture maker, cabinet maker, joiner or similar woodworking role.
• Strong knowledge of woodworking machinery, hand tools, joinery techniques and timber‑based materials.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately.
• High attention to detail and practical problem‑solving skills.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence preferred for occasional site visits.
