Town Planner – Planning Consultancy in Kent

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Town Planner to join a respected planning consultancy based in Kent. You will work on a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial and mixed‑use projects, providing strategic advice and managing planning applications from start to finish.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake planning appraisals and deliver expert advice to clients.
• Prepare planning applications, reports, submissions and supporting documentation.
• Liaise with local authorities, clients and other stakeholders throughout the development process.
• Assist with appeals, representations and the preparation of related documentation.
• Manage projects from inception through to completion, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Contribute to business development activities and help grow the client base.

Required profile

• A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline.
• MRTPI membership or working towards it.
• Proven experience in town planning within the UK.
• Strong understanding of planning policy, legislation and development processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive, client‑focused attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
