Town Planner – Residential Development

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established residential developer in Reading to recruit a Town Planner. The successful candidate will support the land and planning team in identifying, promoting and securing residential development opportunities across the South East.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, submit and manage planning applications and appeals.
• Conduct site appraisals and assess planning risks and opportunities.
• Liaise with local authorities, consultants and other stakeholders.
• Support strategic land promotion and Local Plan representations.
• Monitor planning policy changes and advise the business.
• Assist in negotiating Section 106 agreements.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Town Planning or a related discipline.
• Working towards or already MRTPI qualified (desirable).
• Experience in residential development, consultancy or local authority.
• Strong knowledge of the UK planning system.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive, organised and commercially aware.
