Town Planner – Residential Development Projects

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious Town Planner to join a leading UK property developer in Leeds. The role offers the chance to influence major residential and mixed‑use projects from land acquisition through to planning approval, working within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, submit and manage planning applications from inception to determination.
• Liaise with local planning authorities, statutory consultees and external stakeholders.
• Provide planning advice to internal land, design and technical teams.
• Support appraisal of potential land acquisitions through planning due diligence.
• Manage external planning consultants where required.
• Monitor planning policy changes and assess their impact.
• Represent the business at meetings, consultations and planning committees.

Required profile

• Degree in Town Planning or a related discipline.
• MRTPI status or working towards chartership.
• Experience in a consultancy, housebuilder, developer or local authority.
• Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and legislation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects within a collaborative team.
