Trade Counter Assistant – Customer Support & Sales Advisor

About the role

Our client, a well‑established machine‑hire business in Hatfield, is looking for a Trade Counter Assistant who will act as a Customer Support & Sales Advisor. The role blends front‑line customer service, sales support and practical hands‑on duties, offering a varied day‑to‑day experience.

Key responsibilities

• Answer customer enquiries by phone, email and face‑to‑face, providing product advice and technical support.
• Guide customers through the sales process and deliver after‑sales assistance.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve queries efficiently and identify upsell opportunities.
• Assist with the collection, handover and fitting of hire and service trailers, roof racks and cycle carriers.
• Perform manual handling and lifting of heavier items as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience in the motor trade.
• Background in customer service, support or sales.
• Experience using a CRM system.
• Good IT proficiency and confidence with business software.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Full right to work in the UK.
