Trader – Category Management & Supplier Negotiation

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Trader to join Asda House in Leeds. You will work with leading UK brands, collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to drive sales, pricing and growth while managing the category P&L.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with key suppliers and internal stakeholders to achieve sales and pricing targets.
• Develop and deliver business plans that align with customer needs and market trends.
• Track and negotiate key commodities, implementing cost‑to‑serve programmes.
• Manage the category profit and loss, ensuring value for customers.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a similar trading or category management role.
• Strong awareness of customer requirements, market trends and competitor ranges.
• Ability to identify strategic opportunities and innovative product ideas.
• Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to influence a diverse supplier base.
