Traffic Operator – 4 on 4 off shift

About the role

Join Maritime Transport’s Reading depot as a Traffic Operator working a 4‑on/4‑off shift pattern. You will coordinate driver activities, manage port bookings and ensure timely deliveries across the distribution network.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate with multiple drivers and ports to arrange delivery slots.
• Enter driver start and finish times using the TOPS transport system.
• Monitor driver ETAs, chase updates and reroute jobs when necessary.
• Match proof‑of‑delivery (POD) documents to the correct jobs in the system.
• Inform customers of potential delays and provide accurate status updates.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Traffic Operator (essential).
• Confident written and verbal communicator.
• Willingness to work a 4‑on/4‑off shift pattern.
• Strong UK geographical knowledge and ability to work independently.
• Organised, flexible and capable of quick problem solving.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the TOPS transport management system.
