Trailer Operations Manager

About the role

The Trailer Operations Manager will lead the planning, scheduling and coordination of all ground network activities for a client based near Heathrow. You will ensure efficient routing, cost control and high‑quality service across the road transport fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and communicate operating timetables for the ground network.
• Develop and maintain routing plans, rates and lane costing for line‑haul activities.
• Supervise a team of approximately six staff members supporting trucking operations.
• Manage routing schemes, label requirements, transit, arrival and departure schedules.
• Collaborate with branch and product managers to update the network and communicate changes.
• Create and oversee holiday service schedules and contingency plans for overload situations.
• Develop tools, audits and costing forecasts to improve routing accuracy and cost efficiency.
• Support activity‑based costing models, continuous quality improvement initiatives and market/supplier research.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of experience in transportation operations or management.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or a related field (preferred).
• Previous supervisory or team‑lead experience (preferred).
