Trainee Accountant – ACA/ACCA Apprenticeship

About the role

This apprenticeship offers a hands‑on introduction to accountancy across a diverse client base while you work towards an ACA or ACCA qualification. You will join a supportive team in Manchester, receiving full training, mentoring and a clear progression path.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Prepare corporation tax and VAT returns.
• Produce management accounts and support audit work where available.
• Use Microsoft Office and the cloud‑based accounting software MyWorkpapers.
• Communicate with clients via phone and email.
• Assist with general office and administrative tasks.
• Ensure all work is reviewed by a manager or partner before submission.

Required profile

• 2:1 degree (achieved or predicted) in any discipline or a full AAT qualification.
• Minimum GCSE Grade 5 (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
• Right to work in the UK for the duration of the training contract.
• Strong communication, attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
