Trainee Accountant – Entry Level Accounting Role

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Trainee Accountant to join a small, supportive accountancy practice near Blandford. This full‑time, permanent position offers the chance to develop your accounting career while working with a variety of clients across different industries.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Perform bookkeeping tasks, bank reconciliations and VAT returns.
• Support the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns.
• Maintain accurate financial records and client files.
• Liaise with clients to gather information and answer basic queries.
• Help with payroll processing and other ad‑hoc accounting duties.

Required profile

• AAT qualified or currently studying towards AAT.
• Good understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.

• Xero (or Sage/QuickBooks)
