Trainee Accountant

About the role

This full‑time Trainee Accountant position is based in an office near Maidstone, supporting a diverse portfolio of owner‑managed businesses and high‑net‑worth individuals. The role offers study support and a clear pathway to develop a long‑term career in a friendly, growing accountancy and business advisory firm.

Key responsibilities

• Provide bookkeeping support across a client portfolio.
• Prepare and file VAT returns.
• Compile management accounts, budgets, forecasts and statutory accounts, supporting tax computations.
• Prepare personal and corporate tax returns.
• Assist with payroll tasks as required.
• Handle Companies House compliance, including Annual Confirmation Statements.

Required profile

• AAT qualified or studying towards ACA/ACCA.
• Approximately two years’ experience in an accountancy practice.
• Curious, analytical and confident with spreadsheets and data analysis.
• Detail‑focused, deadline‑aware and solutions‑oriented.
• Strong communication skills with clients and colleagues.
