Trainee Alloy Wheel Technician

About the role
We are looking for a motivated Trainee Alloy Wheel Technician to join Arnold Clark in Edinburgh. You will work in our Sighthill workshop, performing repairs, painting and finishing of alloy wheels for a range of vehicles. This full‑time position offers a clear pathway to develop specialist skills in automotive wheel refurbishment.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare alloy wheels for paintwork, including cleaning and surface preparation.
- Carry out minor alloy wheel repairs and diamond‑cut milling.
- Remove and refit tyres, then balance wheels after repairs.
- Mix and apply paint products to achieve a high‑quality finish.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Required profile
- Energetic and self‑motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Good people skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
Required skills
- Alloy wheel repair techniques.
- Paint mixing and application for wheels.
- Tyre removal, fitting and wheel balancing.
- Diamond‑cut alloy milling and cutting.
