Trainee CNC Miller – Full-time (Sittingbourne)

About the role

Our client in Sittingbourne is looking for a motivated Trainee CNC Miller to join a permanent, full‑time team. The position offers comprehensive on‑the‑job training on 3‑axis Haas machines and Heidenhain controls, making it ideal for candidates with a basic interest in CNC machining or a related engineering background.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and program 3‑axis Haas CNC milling machines.
• Set up, adjust and maintain Heidenhain control systems.
• Interpret engineering drawings to produce precise components.
• Select and use appropriate cutting tools for a variety of materials, including aluminium, stainless steel and titanium.
• Collaborate with the production team to meet part specifications and deadlines.

Required profile

• Enthusiasm for learning CNC milling techniques.
• Basic understanding of engineering drawings or a willingness to be trained.
• Ability to work a 39‑hour week (7:30 am‑4:00 pm, Friday finishes at 3:00 pm).
• Flexibility to undertake overtime when required.

Required skills

• 3‑axis Haas machine operation.
• Heidenhain CNC control programming.
• CAD/CAM programming basics.
• CNC milling fundamentals.
• Interpretation of engineering drawings.
