Trainee CNC Setter/Operator – Haywards Heath

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Trainee CNC Setter/Operator to join our established engineering business in Haywards Heath. You will receive comprehensive training to develop CNC machining skills, from machine setting and operation to quality inspection and interpreting engineering drawings.

Key responsibilities

• Learn to set and operate CNC machines to produce precision components.
• Support machining work according to production specifications.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
• Carry out in‑progress checks and final inspections to ensure part quality.
• Assist with routine machine checks, basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with experienced CNC machinists to develop technical expertise.

Required profile

• Genuine interest in CNC machining, engineering or precision manufacturing.
• Practical, accurate, reliable and eager to develop a skilled CNC career.
• Previous experience in manufacturing, machine operation or mechanical assembly is desirable but not mandatory.
• Ability to work well within a small, skilled team and follow health‑and‑safety standards.
