Trainee Commercial Catering Installation Engineer

About the role

This is a full‑time trainee position with a well‑established commercial catering equipment installer experiencing rapid growth. You will be trained to install, connect and commission a range of catering assets across new builds and refurbishments in the London and Essex area.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in installing gas, electrical and water services for commercial kitchen equipment.
• Work on projects in restaurants, hotels, care homes and other hospitality venues.
• Travel to sites, typically arriving at 8 am and staying on‑site for periods of one to four weeks.
• Support the fitting of plumbing, pipework and electrical connections, then commission the equipment.
• Shadow experienced engineers during the initial training phase.

Required profile

• Residence in North London, East London or Essex.
• Good electrical knowledge, ideally holding an 18th Edition qualification.
• NVQ Level 3 in plumbing or equivalent basic electrical skills.
• Physically fit for moderate lifting and manual handling.
• Motivation to develop a career in commercial catering installation.
