About the role
The Trainee Leadership Programme prepares you to become a British Army Officer. You will spend 44 weeks at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst learning core military skills and leadership fundamentals.
Key responsibilities
- Lead a team of approximately 30 soldiers after commissioning.
- Complete intensive training in weapons handling, outdoor survival and tactical decision‑making.
- Undertake specialist training in your chosen field such as engineering, intelligence gathering or piloting an Apache helicopter.
- Participate in adventurous training worldwide, including skiing, white‑water rafting and other challenging activities.
- Continue professional development through a funded BSc in Leadership and Strategic Studies if desired.
Required profile
- Demonstrated leadership potential and a strong sense of purpose.
- Willingness to serve the nation and work in demanding environments.
- Open to candidates without a university degree; fresh school leavers, qualified professionals and those already in a career are all considered.
