Trainee Leakage Technician – Water Utilities

About the role

Join a leading water utilities company as a Trainee Leakage Technician. You will work outdoors across the underground water network, learning to detect and locate leaks using specialist equipment. No prior experience is required, only a full UK manual driving licence and a willingness to work both days and nights.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with detailed surveys to identify the type and location of water leaks.
• Support repair teams by providing accurate leak detection information.
• Carry out project and survey work across the network and upload data to a laptop.
• Complete required paperwork and follow strict health & safety procedures.
• Drive between sites and perform manual tasks such as lifting, bending and stretching.

Required profile

• Full UK manual driving licence.
• Strong attention to detail and good communication skills.
• Problem‑solving mindset and ability to follow procedures.
• Comfortable working outdoors and performing manual tasks.
• Basic computer skills.

Required skills

• Use of leak detection equipment.
• Basic computer operation.
