Trainee Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical / Hydraulic)

About the role

Join the UK division of a leading manufacturer of industrial vacuums and environmental equipment as a Trainee Maintenance Engineer. Based in Middlesbrough, you will work in a workshop environment, supporting critical industries such as petrochemical, agricultural and food sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out repairs and routine maintenance on vacuum systems, HGVs and pressure washers.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs.
• Operate from the workshop with occasional travel to customer sites.
• Document work performed and follow health & safety procedures.

Required profile

• Strong interest in mechanical engineering, vehicle mechanics or industrial machinery.
• Enthusiasm for hands‑on work and a desire to develop technical skills.
• Availability to work Monday‑Friday, 7:30 am‑4:30 pm.
