Trainee Mortgage Advisor

About the role

This is an entry‑level position with a reputable wealth management firm in the City of London. You will join a collaborative team and receive structured training to develop into a full mortgage adviser and later into broader wealth‑management or financial‑planning roles.

Key responsibilities

• Support senior advisers in delivering tailored mortgage and protection advice from initial consultation to completion.
• Assist with fact‑finding, lender research, application support and case management throughout the mortgage process.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, lenders and internal teams to ensure a seamless service.
• Stay up‑to‑date with mortgage market developments, lender criteria and FCA regulations.
• Help assess and manage more complex cases while ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Develop knowledge of protection products such as life insurance, critical illness and income protection.

Required profile

• Previous experience in the mortgage industry (administration, case management, processing or advisory support) is highly preferable.
• At least 6 months in a client‑facing or target‑driven role with a proven record of meeting objectives.
• CeMAP qualification or studying towards CeMAP/CII is preferred but not essential.
• Strong communication, relationship‑building skills and a client‑first mindset.
• Willingness to study towards the CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.
