Trainee Paraplanner

About the role

The role offers an ambitious individual with financial services experience the chance to develop into a qualified paraplanner within a growing financial planning practice. Working alongside senior advisers and paraplanners, you will gain hands‑on exposure to the full financial planning process while continuing professional development.

Key responsibilities

• Support advisers and senior paraplanners with day‑to‑day client cases.
• Gather, review and analyse client information to assist in preparing financial recommendations.
• Liaise with clients, providers and third parties to obtain policy details and resolve queries.
• Conduct product and technical research using industry tools.
• Assist in drafting suitability reports and recommendation letters in a regulated environment.
• Ensure documentation is accurate, compliant and of high quality.
• Stay up‑to‑date with legislation, regulation and technical developments.
• Support internal systems, processes and procedures to deliver an exceptional client experience.

Required profile

• Previous experience in financial services, preferably in IFA administration or financial planning support.
• Ambition to build a long‑term career in paraplanning.
• Working towards or holding a Level 4 financial planning qualification (e.g., CII R0 exams – at least three completed).
• Strong analytical ability and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent written communication with high grammar standards.
• Ability to interpret and present complex information clearly.
• Organisational skills with capacity to manage competing priorities.
