Trainee Recruitment Consultant

About the role

First Military Recruitment is expanding and is looking for a Trainee Recruitment Consultant to join its office in Quedgeley, Gloucester. The role offers a full‑time, entry‑level position with a competitive base salary plus uncapped commission, and a clear path to professional growth in a target‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Build a warm desk and develop business through new and existing accounts.
• Engage with candidates and clients via phone, email and face‑to‑face meetings.
• Proactively source candidates and advertise vacancies through proven channels.
• Develop new business through telephone and face‑to‑face outreach.
• Negotiate contracts and match candidate skills with client requirements.
• Interview and assess prospective applicants, providing detailed feedback to both parties.
• Assist applicants in interview preparation.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a sales role is desirable but not essential.
• Strong commercial awareness.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organisational abilities.
• Confidence and high energy.

• Competitive base salary £25,000‑£27,000 plus uncapped commission (first‑year OTE £40K+).
