About the role
The Systems Engineering LEAP Programme is an 18‑month fully paid development pathway designed for individuals transitioning from the armed forces or other engineering backgrounds. You will be based in Edinburgh and work alongside experienced engineers on cutting‑edge defence projects.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in early‑stage research and stakeholder engagement.
- Translate stakeholder needs into clear system specifications.
- Support the creation of system architectures and design documentation.
- Analyse designs, contribute to integration and build activities.
- Develop test plans and support installation and trial phases.
Required profile
- Engineering or technical background with a willingness to learn.
- Committed to personal development and a new career in systems engineering.
- Analytical, methodical and curious about how complex systems work.
- Team‑oriented with strong communication skills.
